Sultan of Oman pardons 229 prisoners

Muscat: Sultan HM Haitham Bin Tariq of the Sultanate of Oman pardoned a group of prison inmates convicted in various cases.

229 inmates were pardoned, which included 70 foreign nationals, according to Oman News Agency.

The pardon coincides with the occasion of His Majesty's assumption of the reins of power in the country.
