HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting held at its seat at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday afternoon.
The cabinet approved a draft animal health law to prevent epidemic and contagious diseases.
Following the meeting, HE Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs issued the following statement:
At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet welcomed the results of the meetings of the 31st regular session of the Council of the Arab League at the summit level, which was held in Algiers, the capital of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, on November 1-2, with the participation of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.
The Cabinet affirmed that the Algeria declaration issued by the summit constitutes a new starting point for developing joint Arab action, strengthening the spirit of Arab solidarity, and serving the crucial Arab issues, particularly the Palestinian cause.
The Cabinet commended the efforts of HE President of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune in creating the appropriate atmosphere for holding the summit, managing its sessions, and achieving its success.
The Cabinet valued the Arab position announced at the Algeria Summit supporting the State of Qatar's hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, expressing full confidence in the country's ability to distinguishably organize this global event, and rejecting the malicious campaigns of distortion and skepticism that Qatar is subject to.
Then, the Cabinet considered the topics on the agenda as follows:
First - Approval of the draft animal health law to prevent epidemic and contagious diseases.
The draft law aims to combat epidemic and contagious diseases that can affect public health and livestock.
Second - Approval of a draft Cabinet decision amending some provisions of Decision No. 17 of 2014 establishing the National Explosives Affairs Committee.
This committee, established at the Ministry of Interior, has several specializations, including providing advice to the competent government agencies, in everything related to issues of explosives and the raw materials that go into their manufacture, and proposing controls for controlling the import, export, production, processing and consumption of explosive materials and materials that go into their manufacture.
Third - Approval of a draft decision of the Minister of Public Health specifying some pharmaceutical products that can be sold by other than the authorized pharmaceutical establishments.
Fourth - Approval of a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the supervisory field between the State Audit Bureau of the State of Qatar and the Court of Accounts of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria.
Fifth - The Cabinet followed up the arrangements and preparations for hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and took the appropriate decision in this regard.
Sixth - The Cabinet reviewed the following topics and took the appropriate decisions:
1- Draft trusted data law.
2- A report on the results of the third session of the joint ministerial committee for economic, commercial and technical cooperation between the State of Qatar and the United Kingdom.
3- Report (53) on the results of the work of the National Committee for the Prohibition of Weapons.
4- A report on the results of the 25th meeting of the Committee of Ministers Concerned with Municipal Affairs in the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.
