I Wished for Solitude narrates the story of a man born with a rare affliction that gradually erases his facial features. His mother lovingly creates a mask that mirrors a human face to help him conceal his condition. As he reaches a crucial juncture in his life, he consults with his doctor and decides to embark on a reclusive journey.
“After a conversation with his doctor, the man decides that it is time for him to become a recluse. He has his final poignant conversations with his mother, his friends, and the thing that means the most to him — the beetle that lives in his room. Through these dialogues, themes of isolation, illness, and social responsibility are unpacked,” DFI said.
