Qatar Airways’ gesture to thank teachers by offering them free tickets has witnessed huge response from teaching professionals from across the world. After the offer ended yesterday, the national carrier of Qatar said it had given away all the 21,000 complimentary return tickets to teachers.

“Over the last three days, we gave away 21,000 complimentary return tickets to teachers worldwide as a token of our appreciation to them. We hope that those who successfully registered will enjoy a well-deserved trip of a lifetime on us,” said Qatar Airways on its official twitter account, yesterday.

The airline announced on Sunday, that it would give away 21,000 complimentary tickets to teachers to thank them for their vital work in educating young people worldwide during the challenges brought by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The giveaway began on World Teacher’s Day on October 5 and closed yesterday.

Teaching professionals from over 75 countries in which Qatar Airways currently operates are eligible for tickets. The campaign to thank teachers saw great enthusiasm from day one. “Today is the final day of our #ThankYouTeachers campaign! So far we have given away 14,000 complimentary return tickets to teachers worldwide,” tweeted Qatar Airways on Wednesday

The campaign to thank teaching professionals comes after a similar initiative in which Qatar Airways gave free tickets to health care professionals, which was also a huge success. In May this year, Qatar Airways had launched a campaign to give away 100,000 free tickets to frontline healthcare professionals.
