Detroit: Reggie Jackson scored Saturday 39 points to put the Detroit Pistons in the playoffs for the first time since 2008-09 season.
Jackson scored 14 of his 39 points in the final quarter to go along with nine assists to beat the Washington Wizards 112-99. Tobias Harris netted 17 points, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had 14 for the Pistons (43-37), who hold down the seventh spot in the Eastern Conference post-season scramble.
With Pistons leading a close game 100-96 with 2:45 left, Jackson scored eight points to spark a 12-3 closing run, snapping the seven-year drought.
Markieff Morris had 29 points, including 24 in the third period while Bradley Beal added 25 for the Wizards (38-41), who were eliminated from the post-season.
