SOP: Swimming test for boys

DOHA: The swimming tests for boys primary schools in the sixth edition of the Schools Olympic Programme (SOP) were held at the swimming pool of Al Arabi Sports Club yesterday.

According to Ibrahim Al Rumaihi, Director of SOP Swimming Operations, the tests featured 268 students from 28 schools including Bright Future, Birla Public School, Global Academy, Abi Ayoub Al Ansari, Duhail Model School, Umm Salal Ali, Joaan bin Jassim, Al Furqan Jordanian School, Al Khor, Newton School, Noor Alkhaleeg, Indian School, Al Shorouk Model School, Al Montazah, Sri Lankan, Omerr bin Al Khatab Abdullah bin Turkey, Egyptian Language School, Al Wekair, Al Manar, khalifa, Royan and Lagoon School.

The SOP is a sporting event involving more than 300 schools and 20,000 participants. It runs from October to April each edition. The theme for the 6th edition of (SOP) being held this year is Sport and Investment. SOP is held annually as a collaborative effort of the Olympic Committee, Supreme Education Council, Qatar School Sport Association and Qatar Paralympics Committee. THE PENINSULA
