Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs, H E Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Thani bin Abdullah Al Thani, expressed his happiness and pride that the Qatar 2022 World Cup will be a “championship for all”.
Sheikh Dr. Khalid was speaking at the fifth edition of the Empowerment Forum organized by the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy in Doha under the slogan "Championship for All".
He added that this world cup will be one in which all football fans even people with disabilities can participate in different ways. Fans of all ages and those with any disability can easily, and affordably attend matches in the eight stadiums that will host the tournament, and it will be considered the largest accessible tournament for people with disabilities in the history of the World Cup.
The tournament will witness the participation of blind, deaf, motor and intellectual disabilities, and autism cases, Down Syndrome, and others with facilities to enjoy this major global sporting event.
