Doha: Third seed Abdullah Al Tamimi moved into the quarter-finals of the Qatar Circuit Squash Championship with an fighting win over Iker Pajares Bernabeu. Playing on the Glasscourt of Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, Tamimi, who leads Qatar’s challenge at the championship took nearly an hour to register a 11-4, 10-12, 11-4, 11-13, 11-4 win over his Spanish opponent. The promising Qatari player takes on Mazen Gamal in the quarter-finals today. The Egyptian, rallied after losing the first game to pocket the next three games on way to a 10-12, 11-3, 11-4, 15-13 win over Robert Downer of England. Also making it to the last eight stage were top seed Jens Schoor of Germany and eight seed Ammar Altamimi of Kuwait. Schoor will square to Nathan Lake of England, while Altamimi will encounter Lance Beddoes of New Zealand In the other matches, Joel Makin of Wales takes on Mohamed Reda of Egypt.
