Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) is ready to host an action-packed week of world-class races, with thrilling contests taking place over three days at the Al Rayyan and Al Uqda racecourses.

Today’s 40th Al Rayyan Meeting promises to be a marathon affair, featuring nine races including the Al Jumayliyah Cup, which will be contested in the Thoroughbred Confined Plate (Class 2).

The race will showcase notable contenders such as Account, trained by Owaida Salem Al Hajri, Al Shaman, trained by Hamad Al Jehani, and Edgartown from Wathnan Racing, who will be ridden by Soufiane Saadi at Al Rayyan Racecourse.

The action will shift to Al Uqda Racecourse tomorrow for the 41st meeting, where the Qatar Gold Sword and Trophy (Div 1) will be contested over two days.

On the opening day of the meeting, four exciting races will take place including the Sealine Sprint Trophy - Thoroughbred Open Cup (Class 2) and the Al Wajba Trophy – 3YO Thoroughbreds (Class 1). Challengers like Legend of Xanadu, Dark Trooper and Return to Senders will battle for the Sealine Sprint Trophy, while Suhail Star, Valian Knight and Ripple Effect will compete for the Al Wajba Trophy.

The meeting will continue with four high-profile races on Thursday, including the Qatar Silver Trophy, Qatar Silver Sword, Qatar Gold Trophy and Qatar Gold Sword.

The Local Purebred Arabian (Class 1) race for the Qatar Silver Trophy will feature AI Mirage, Bakir and Ezzat Nafs, along with other competitors, while Ajlaan, Lippo De Carrere and Ghara are among the entries for the Purebred Arabian 4yo (Class 1) race for the Qatar Silver Sword.

In the Thoroughbred (Class 1 Qa-Gr1) International Race for the Qatar Gold Trophy, horses like Bolthole, Dubawi Spectre and Local Law will battle for the title, while in the Purebred Arabian (Class 1 Gr1) International Race for the Qatar Gold Sword, Sun Amer, Luwsail and Al Nati Up will face off among other top contenders.

Both of the last two races will carry a prize purse of $250,000 each.
