International Women's Day: Sheikha Moza celebrates women who strive for better future

Doha: On the occassion of International Women's Day, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation and United Nations SDG Advocate HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser penned a note on her social media account. 

Commending the women whom she has encountered in her life and work, HH Sheikha Moza wrote that it is their capacity to make future better for themselves, their families, communities and their nations that unites them.  

HH Sheikha Moza, in Arabic and English, wrote, "‏In my life and work, I have encountered women from educators to caregivers and from artists to scientists. What unites them is their capacity to strive for better futures, not only for themselves, but for their families, their communities and their nations. Today we celebrate these women." 

Meanwhile Chairperson of Qatar Museums, HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani shared a picture with her mother HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser to whom she dedicated the Women's Day. HE Sheikha Mayassa thanked her mother for being a role model for women and young girls in the region and for instilling the values of hard work, determination and compassion in her. 

HE Sheikha Mayassa wrote, "Empowerment knows no gender, let’s celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women around the world this International Women's Day. Arab and Muslim women have always been at the forefront of progress and change. This day is a reminder of the power and strength that lies within us. I would like to dedicate this day to my mother for being a role model for women and young girls in this region. She instilled in me the values of hard work, determination, and compassion, and showed me what it means to be a true leader."
