Italy’s Navarria reigns supreme at Fencing GP

Doha: Mara Navarria of Italy defeated Britta Heidemeann of Germany 15-12 in the final of the Qatar Fencing Grand Prix to walk away with top honours. 
Luck however  failed to smile on the Russian duo of Tatiana Logunova and  Yana Zvereva, who lost to the finalists.
In the semi-finals, Heidemann defeated Zvereva 15-14, while Navarria overcame Logunova 15-10. Top fencers from over 50 countries took part in the championship.  On Saturday, Anokhin Vadim of Russia claimed the men’s title.
