Doha: Qureshi Bukhara, a globally renowned Indian restaurant continues its worldwide expansion with a restaurant in Qatar. The latest addition to the Qureshi restaurant empire is nestled at the newly opened Dusit Hotel & Suites – Doha. The restaurant opening was celebrated with a launch event attended by the country’s VIPs and media.
Founded by Chef Imtiaz Qureshi, one of the most widely known chefs in India and is recognised across the world for his role in globalising the Indian culinary arts and reviving the age-old Awadhi dum pukht cuisine, Qureshi Bukhara recreates the charm of tandoor, a traditional north Indian clay oven bringing a delicious menu of succulent tandoor-cooked kababs, vegetables and breads.
The Qureshi Bukhara in Doha will be headed by Master Chef Irfan Qureshi as the restaurant’s Chef de Cuisine alongside the consultancy of his brother, Master Chef Ashfaque Qureshi – both sons of Chef Imtiaz. The Qureshi family’s name has been synonymous with good eating for over 200 years and traces its lineage to legendary chefs and kitchens. The have spent a great deal of time researching and unearthing age-old recipes and cooking styles; innovating and developing them into flavours that are unique yet true to its roots, steeped in rich Indian traditions.
“The Qureshis have pioneered the art of North Indian cuisine and have become globally renowned in this sphere,” said Raghu Menon, Cluster General Manager of Dusit Hotel & Suites – Doha. “For centuries, their ancestors had been cooking for the great Moghuls; they champion this unique, historic cuisine and have translated it to the palate of the modern diner. We are very proud and excited to be bringing this culinary experience here in Doha.”
