Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QE) Index crossed 12,900 level yesterday. The QE Index recorded a gain of 171.78 points, or 1.34 percent to close at 12,977.92 points. The rally was driven by buying support from Qatari and GCC investors. The index had closed at 12,800.12 points on June 2.
Top gainers in yesterday’s trade were Mannai Corporation, Qatar International Islamic Bank, Qatar National Cement, Ooredoo, and Qatar Islamic Insurance, rising 5.43 percent, 4.4 percent, 3.73 percent, 3.5 percent, and 2.92 percent, respectively.
Al Ahli Bank, Qatar German for Medical Devices, Aamal Holding, Qatar General Insurance & Reinsurance, Dlala Brokerage & Investment Holding lost 3.6 percent, 2.7 percent, 1.7 percent, 1.51 percent and 1.8 percent respectively. The volume of shares traded decreased to 123.9m from 147.9m on Sunday and the value of shares increased to QR495.4m from QR445.8m.
The indices of seven sectors ended in green zone yesterday. QSE Total Return Index gained 1.34 percent to 26,582.98, QSE Al Rayan Islamic index added 1.50 percent to 5,354.48 points and QSE All Share Index rose 1.03 percent 4,156.09 points.
The indices of banks and financial services, industrials, transportation, real estate, insurance, telecoms, and consumer goods & services gained, 1.12 percent, 1.30 percent, 0.04 percent, 0.80 percent, 0.10 percent, 2.47 percent, and 0.18 percent respectively,
On Sunday, the QE Index gained 6.02 points to close trading at 12,806.14. The index rose on the back of buying support from non-Qatari shareholders despite selling pressure from Qatari shareholders.
The volume of shares traded decreased to 147.9m from 188.9m on Thursday and the value of shares decreased to QR445.8m from QR883.6m on Thursday. Gains were led by the Real Estate and Consumer Goods & Services indices, gaining 1.6 percent and 0.7 percent, respectively.
Top gainers were Ezdan Holding Group and Doha Insurance Group, rising 2.9 percent and 2.3 percent, respectively. Among the top losers, Ahli Bank and QLM Life & Medical Insurance Co. were down 2.4 percent each
The indices of four sectors ended in green zone and three sectors ended in red zone today. QSE Total Return Index gained 0.05 percent 26,231.13, QSE Al Rayan Islamic index gained 0.49 percent to 5,275.13 points and QSE All Share Index lost 0.12 percent 4,113.9 points.
