DOHA: In the implementation of the directives of the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar Fund For Development (QFFD), in cooperation with Qatar Red Crescent Society and Qatar Charity, sends urgent aid to earthquake-affected people in Turkiye and Syria, through a Qatar Emiri Air Force air bridge.
This comes in line with the Amir's order to launch an airlift aid campaign, providing all necessary support to mitigate the effects of the earthquake.
In a tweet, the Qatar Red Crescent Society said that the emergency relief shipment contains 35 tonnes of aid, which includes 2,250 heavy blankets, 2,750 light blankets, 1,000 jerrycans, 3,000 mosquito nets, 2,000 tarpaulins, 500 shelter maintenance kits & 1,360 family hygiene kits.
Qatar has also allocated 10,000 mobile homes that will be delivered to the affected areas in Turkiye and Syria.
