S’hail showcases latest hunting, falconry supplies

Doha, Qatar: In a grand opening that drew the attention of hunting and falconry enthusiasts worldwide, the S’hail 7th edition was launched yesterday with the participation of 190 companies.

The Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition or S’hail will run until September 9. It boasts wide-ranging participation from major companies specialising in hunting weapons, falconry, and trekking supplies.

The exhibition’s inaugural day witnessed prestigious guests, including Chief of the Amiri Diwan H E Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and other ambassadors and dignitaries.

In a statement, Katara General Manager, Prof. Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti said this year’s edition stands out in terms of organisation, diversity, quality, and innovation.

He said S’hail serves as a global platform for enthusiasts and businesses to exchange experiences, strike deals, and showcase the latest products and innovations in falconry, hunting, and trekking.

The exhibition’s first day witnessed a remarkable turnout as visitors flocked to explore the pavilions of companies from Qatar, the Gulf region, and other countries. These exhibitors showcased cutting-edge hunting equipment, including firearms, falconry supplies, and camping gear.

Rare and high-quality falcons also stole the spotlight, drawing substantial interest from the public.

The Peninsula spoke to some attendees who expressed their admiration for the seventh edition. Mahmoud from Syria said he had been visiting S’hail for three years and has developed his interest in falconry through the event. Jaime from Sudan said coming for the first time at the exhibition impressed him because of the wide range of products and services being offered. He looked forward to the workshops and poetry reading session. S’hail 2023 exhibition distinguishes itself with an expanded floor space, boasting a 10% increase compared to previous editions.

The event is strategically divided into three wings to enhance the visitor experience.

Wing A serves as the primary pavilion, sprawling across Al Hikma Square. Attendees can explore the S’hail auction theatre, which highlights a diverse and exclusive collection of rare and high-end falcons.

This wing also showcases an impressive array of hunting equipment, camping essentials, and traditional craftsmanship associated with hunting and falconry.

Wing B is dedicated to housing all firearms companies and hunting rifle exhibitors, alongside the Souq Hospital. A dedicated falconry stand is available within this section to cater to enthusiasts’ needs.

Pavilion C offers a specialised area featuring customised four-wheel-drive vehicles designed for land trips, sniper equipment, and camping gear.
