DOHA: Al Shaqab, Member of Qatar Foundation is once again organising its popular annual Ramadan Camp. Now in its fifth year, the latest edition of the Ramadan Camp will include adult riding for the first time.

“We have received numerous requests from adults to provide riding lessons for them. With this new riding facility, we are able to provide a holistic family activity where parents also have the opportunity to join their children as well. In the process, parents not only have the opportunity to learn equestrian skills and become familiar with horses and riding but also able to appreciate and share their children’s experience” said Al Shaqab’s Equine Education Manager Mohamed Sultan Al Suwaidi.

Organised and supervised by Al Shaqab’s Equine Education Department, the Ramadan Camp offers participants varied equine related activities that serve as fun and educational introduction to equestrian sports.
The camp will take place from May 19 to June 14 in four weekly periods. Each period will be for a  duration of six days, Saturday to Thursday. Participants may choose any one of the sessions: Session 1 from 2.30-3:15pm, Session 2 from 3.30-4.15pm, Session 3 from 4.30-5.15pm, Session 4 from 9.30-10.15pm and Session 5 from 10.30-11.15pm.

Each registered participant will have daily riding lessons for the period and session they registered for. The fees for 3 to 7-year-old children will be QR600 per week, QR750 per 8-17 years old children per week and QR 900 per week for riders over 18 years old.

Parents who do not sign up for riding lessons can also engage in sporting activities while their  children are attending the camp. Specially designated exercise areas have been set aside for this purpose, including a 400-metre indoor walking course, exercise mats, spinning bikes, skipping ropes and stability exercise balls. A Kids’ zone will be also provided for children up to eight years old.

To ensure the best experience for all participants, the number of participants per week will be limited. Therefore, early registration is advised.
