The new Genesis G80
Genesis, the award-winning luxury car brand that has been creating waves since its international launch last year, has officially touched down in Qatar.
The country’s most discerning motorists can now experience superior levels of comfort and technology, advanced safety and driver assistance characterised by the flagship full-size G90 Sedan and the new G80.
The Genesis G90 and G80 models are the first in a planned range of cars expected to redefine the top end of the automotive market in Qatar.
The cars perfectly balance beauty and functionality. They are a powerful representation of the new brand’s ‘Athletic Elegance’ design language, which will be carried through to future Genesis products. Their design creates a strong first impression on the road, with a prominent bonnet, long wheelbase and short front and rear overhangs.

Principles of human-focused technology have been applied throughout the interior of both the flagship G90 and G80. These range from advanced seating and climate control functions through to the intuitive multimedia system and wireless device charging. Advanced ergonomic analysis dictates the positioning of driver controls, passenger comfort and entertainment features.
Advanced technological innovation defines Genesis. Both the G90 and G80 feature Genesis Smart Sense, a suite of driver safety technologies covering the full spectrum of active and passive safety features, ensuring driver alertness and occupant safety. This includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Smart Cruise Control with Stop/Start, Smart Blind Spot Detection and Lane Keep Assist.
Genesis represents the ideal combination of driving performance and comfort. The advanced H-TRAC all-wheel-drive system optimises vehicle dynamics with the first application of Genesis Adaptive Control Suspension (GACS). For the G80, a 311-hp 3.8-liter V-6 with an eight-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive is standard, and a 420-hp 5.0-liter V-8 is optional. Whilst G90 powertrain options include a 3.8-liter direct injected V6, an all-new 3.3-liter direct-injected, twin-turbocharged V6, or the award-winning Tau 5.0-liter direct-injected V8 for ultimate power, coupled to an eight-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Since the brand’s international launch last year, both Genesis models have made a major impression on the global car market and received numerous industry accolades. Most recently, the G90 premium luxury sedan featured in the Consumer Guide’s 2017 Best Buy list in the US and earned one of the US auto industry’s highest safety honours from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, heralded as a Top Safety Pick+ due to its exceptional performance during testing.
The 2017 Genesis G80 is also making a name for itself and holds two of the highest safety honours in the US auto industry – the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety 2016 Top Safety Pick+, and a five-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, reserved for vehicles that offer the highest level of crash protection and provide the most advanced active and passive safety technology.
To build the brand in Qatar, Skyline Automotive is running a month-long roadshow in Villaggio and hosting an interactive stand giving visitors a taste of the luxury, VIP experience that Genesis has become synonymous with.
The flagship G90 and the new G80 are on display at the stand, which is situated in the Via Domo Luxury Area of the mall until March 15th. The company is then taking the road-show to the Mall of Qatar, where it will run until March 31.
