Bangladesh MHM School & College plans cultural events for 2020

The Bangladesh MHM School & College has planned to host several cultural and educational programmes and sport activities during 2020. The annual event calendar of Bangaladesh School in Qatar includes 55 events that will be held from January 1 to June 30, this year.
“We plan to organise more events this year compared to last year, including a major event to celebrate Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s 100th birth anniversary,” Md Zulfiker Azad, Vice-Principal, Bangladesh MHM School & College, told The Peninsula.
Md Zulfiker Azad is also in-charge for event management of the school.
  He said that the school will host Annual Prize Giving Ceremony on January 10 in which the winners of the competitions held last year will be honoured.
“Cultural programmes like traditional dance, songs and stage show will be held at the ceremony. We are expecting about 2,000 visitors including parents and guests,” said Azad.
He said that annual sport competitions will begin on January 21. “The three-day event will give opportunity to the students to take part in various athletic activities like race, high jump and long jump,” said Azad.
He said that Bangladesh School will host a special programme on February 21 to mark International Mother Language Day.
“The student will be divided into four houses for Inter-house Wall Magazine Competition. The students of other schools will be also invited to compete in preparing the wall magazine in their mother tongue,” said Azad.   
He said that debate competition on current issues for middle and high school students will be held on February 27. 
“Speech competition will be held on March 7 on the occasion of the Speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his historical background,” said Azad.
He said that Bangaldesh School will hold a number of activities on March 17 to celebrate Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s 100th birth anniversary which coincides with National Children's Day.
“The activities include inter-house football match, cultural competition, transitional dance and songs,” said Azad.
He said that a corner will be dedicated to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the library of Bangladesh MHM School & College during the celebration. 
“The corner will have the pictures, monuments of Bangabandhu and the books written on him,” said Azad.    
 Bangladesh MHM School and College celebrated 49th Victory Day of Bangladesh with great patriotic zeal and much passion with colourful functions organised at the School premises on December 16, 2019 paying tribute to the freedom fighters who made the supreme sacrifices in the War for Independence to free the nation in 1971.
On this occasion, the institution holds the different event and activities like raising of National Flag with National anthem, prayer for the freedom fighters and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
On this significant day the school arranged a vibrant cultural programme with an outstanding performance of respected Lecturer Abu Shama along with poem recitation, songs and other performance highliting the history, tradition of the country.
Students of Elementary School participated in drawing competition while their counterparts of middle school took part in Patriotic Song, Drama competition.
Bangladesh School Qatar organised the Annual Science Fair and Arts and Crafts Exhibition-2019 in mid September 2019.
Students of elementary, middle and high school participated in the exhibition. 
Models of windmills, generators, space ship, models of chemical compounds, and glittering tree, convenient coffee machine, chemistry in daily life were the surprises of science fair.
