Doha: A large turnout of participants from over 180 local, regional, and international companies representing 20 countries witnessed the launch of the 6th edition of the International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition (S'hail 2022) by the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) on Monday.
The event, which will be held until September 10, is witnessing participation from companies specialising in hunting rifles, falconry and navigation equipment, among others. Several ministries and government entities are also participating in the exhibition.
Speaking at the event, the Chairperson of the Organising Committee and General Manager of Katara, Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, emphasized that the exhibition is an indication of the maturity of the vision on which S'hail 2022 is based from the outset.
He added that the target is to convert S'hail 2022 into a vital global, economic, cultural, and heritage forum for those interested in hunting and falconry.
Dr. Al Sulaiti pointed out that the successes of the past editions of the event have had a substantial impact on the 6th edition, which has evidently underscored the crucial participation of local, regional, and international companies, including a wide spectrum of the audience.
"Katara is committed to making the 6th edition exceptional at all levels, not only in terms of organizational and logistical aspects but also with respect to upgrading and developing its contests, events, and activities to include numerous other surprises," Dr. Sulaiti added.
He added that since its inception as an exceptional cultural project, Katara has consistently maintained the mission of reviving the heritage and enriching the local, regional, and international cultural scene.
"Katara continues to assiduously work to ensure that it does not divert from the line of innovation and renewal in combining its mission into various cultural projects on which the cultural village is operating, including the S'hail exhibition, being the most prominent one," Dr Al Sulaiti said.
For his part, Vice-Chairperson of the Organising Committee, Mohammed bin Abdul Latif Al Misnad, said that the exhibition has promoted and consolidated its global posture, and it remains a destination of choice for those interested in falconry, hunting, and heritage from various countries around the globe.
He stressed the organizing committee's keenness to ensure showcasing the best, premium, and new items to be offered to the audience, in addition to displaying a large collection of rare falcons of high quality and skill in hunting and sniping.
He stated that the event's venue has been expanded to accommodate the growing number of attendees and the widespread participation of various companies from around the world.
According to him, 54 percent of the participating companies are international, with Gulf companies from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the UAE leading the way.
He noted the distinct presence of US and EU companies at S'hail 2022, in addition to the participation of the most important local and pioneering companies.
