The General Authority of Customs has announced that it is all set to go paperless to ease further customs clearance at its checkpoints.
“By the beginning of November, we will stop accepting papers at all customs checkpoints whether they were related to customs clearance or to the entities which are connected to customs like environment, health, economy among many others,” said Chairman of General Authority of Customs, Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Jamal.
Al Jamal was speaking to The Peninsula at the pavilion of the General Authority of Customs at Silk Road Exhibition & One Belt, One Road Conference which is running at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC).

“The new system will scrap uses of papers replacing with the customs clearance single window electronic system ‘Al Nadeeb’ which will ease the movement of goods in import and export,” said Al Jamal adding that the required documents and certificates will be uploaded on Al Nadeeb.
He said that the Authority is working to ease further the procedures of customs clearance at customs checkpoints. “Al Nadeeb system which is connected with all government organizations is being upgraded adding new features which is expected to achieve within this year,” said Al Jamal.
He said that General Customs Authority participated to the Silk Road Exhibition & One Belt, One Road Conference as one the commercial services entity. “The Authority is serving the country in facilitating the trade and exchange of trade between Qatar and rest of the countries of the World,” said Al Jamal.
He said that the event will help enhance the understanding of trade and establishing new routes of trades serving the countries through the Silk Routes. “Qatar is among the countries who joined the Silk Road initiative being at a strategic location of trade and its economy is growing as the best economy,” said Al Jamal.
He said that the Authority showcased its services which are being provided through customs clearance single window ‘Al Nadeeb’ which is best system in the region in costumes clearance. “Other services of the Authority are also being showcased like those related to the customs clearance agents, traders and custom employee.
