Doha: Abdullah Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Centre at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has launched an intensive training course to teach Arabic to non-native speakers (men and women) from the communities residing in the country.

In a statement yesterday, the centre said that 201 non-Arabic speakers, including 106 men and 95 women, are participating in the course, which is one of the important courses offered by the centre to the various non-Arabic speaking communities, as it contributes to enhancing their communication with the Qatari society and increasing constructive interaction between them.

The course is held intensively throughout this month, in two periods, morning and evening, commensurate with the times of the participants and allows all those wishing to learn the Arabic language to be accommodated.

During the days of Eid Al Fitr, the centre held a programme for the Urdu-speaking Muslim community on the importance of spending for the sake of God, and its importance in social solidarity and bringing happiness to all, with the participation of 300 people.
