10-day Coffee, Tea and Chocolate Festival kicks off

The Coffee, Tea and Chocolate Festival is back this year in its fifth edition, featuring over 70 exhibitors, higher compared to last year, which was 50.

The 10-day event, which is described as the “most phenomenal festival” kicked off at Al Bidda Park on Thursday. The previous editions also saw the festival being hosted in the said area.

Coffee, Tea and Chocolate Festival General Manager, George Simon told The Peninsula that compared to the past editions, this year is special as they have introduced a new concept combining food and entertainment into one place.

“We have around 70 coffee shops offering coffee, sweets, everything. They will be exhibiting their products throughout the run of the festival. This edition, we have a stage with daily entertainment shows,” he explained.

Simon added: “The main idea is for families and people to come and spend time in a nice weather and in an open area. This is a very simple concept where people come, have fun and let the kids play.”

Live entertainment programme has been set-up, including daily roving performances, magicians show, and singing and dancing shows at stage will be happening throughout the 10-day festival, which runs until March 11, from 3pm to 11pm. 

Moreover, the 2023 edition has dedicated a special kids area where inflatable playground is placed for the youngsters to enjoy. The General Manager has also revealed that they are expecting 20,000 to 25,000 people to attend the festival, surpassing the 22,000 tally last year.

He encouraged residents and tourists to come and visit the Coffee, Tea and Chocolate Festival especially the country is witnessing a cool weather. 

“Come and visit, and spend good time in an outside environment,” he said.

Among the exhibitors participating this year are: Speciality Café, Coffee by X, FlaminGO, Churros Café, Sweetio Bar, Ibubble Tea House, Japilko, Take Away, GO-SSIP, Scorpion Café, Chocolates Caraque, Coffee Bike, Cranio Specialty Café, 90’s Café, Bee Sweet Café, Big Diners, Black Light, Caffe Vergnano 1882, Mass Corn, The Cone Café, Empire Café, Tofu’s Cake, Mockup Coffee, Mama Rozie, and Arts & Crafts, among others.

For those who are planning to visit the festival, can either take Metro (go down to Al Bidda station), or a private vehicle as  ample parking spaces are available at the venue of the festival
