Makkah Al-Mukarramah: The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques announced on Tuesday the removal of the protective barriers around the Holy Kaaba.
The move coincided with the start of the new Umrah season.
The decision came to facilitate pilgrims and visitors of the Grand Mosque to perform their rituals in a safe and reassuring spiritual ambiance, especially with a growing inflow of pilgrims and visitors to the Grand Mosque on the occasion of the beginning of the new Umrah season, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted General President of the Presidency Sheikh Dr. Abdurrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais as saying.
The presidency is working with all the sectors operating at the Grand Mosque to receive pilgrims and provide them with all services and facilities, Sheikh Al-Sudais said.
