Nedina.com, Qatar’s homegrown ‘online shopping mall’, has partnered with a number of hypermarkets in Qatar to start its grocery deliveries from today. Addressing an online press conference which was streamed live through Nedina’s social media platforms yesterday, Nedina’s CEO Rajesh Menon  said the company has partnered with leading hypermarkets such as Family Food Centre (FFC), Retail Mart, Indian Supermarket, and New Grand Mart to bring its customers’ favourite groceries to their doorsteps, as well as to meet the increasing demand for online shopping in Qatar.

Since its establishment last year, Nedina has grown into one of the largest and most diversified online marketplaces in Qatar, and is now home to extensive range of products spanning various categories, from electronics, beauty and health, fashion, home appliances, eye wear, and pet supplies among others.

“Keeping with our core objective of serving our customers and our community, I am pleased to announce that from tomorrow, our customers and the community will now be able to shop groceries and essentials from Nedina online. We would like to inform our customers that we would continue to expand our operations and make online shopping a completely new experience for our customers. I want to confirm that our delivery protocols will adhere to the safety standards set by the government.

We will take every step to ensure that our customers, our staff, and the community will remain safe and healthy,” added Menon. In a statement, an official spokesperson from Nedina. com added that the company is putting measures in place to facilitate the contactless delivery of products to its customers.

All delivery personnel will follow the social distancing protocols to ensure the safety of themselves and of the customers. “Further initiatives that we are implementing during these unprecedented times include providing IT support and free online training to businesses to smooth their transition to e-commerce and enable them to use our platform, and using Nedina’s partnership with global CRM providers to facilitate a smooth transition to ‘working from home’, so keeping disruption to our services to an absolute minimum.

We are constantly aiming to expand our product offerings and to provide our customers with a smooth online experience when they buy essential goods such as groceries, electronics, and fashion brands. We are all striving to ensure a stronger and safer Qatar after this crisis,” Nedina added.

Responding to questions posted online, Menon said online purchases will be delivered to customers across Qatar within 24 hours from the time of order. Operation times will start from 8am until 8pm, with a minimum cart value of QR100 for groceries.

Payments in cash or through credit and debit cards are accepted for all online purchases through the company’s website and app. He added that Nedina will continue to establish alliances and partnerships with leading brands and large hypermarkets, while also being fully supportive of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Menon went on to urge local businesses to take full advantage of Nedina’s online capabilities, and added that Nedina.com is offering local businesses the opportunity to set up online shops on its website free of charge.
