Doha: The champions after winning Asian Cup yesterday not only received rousing welcome on their arrival in the country by thousands of fans lined up along Doha Corniche but also received showers of praise on social media platforms.
Social media platforms yesterday celebrated return of Qatar National Team and a Twitterati said that celebratory atmosphere in Qatar particularly on the Doha Corniche was perfect resemblance of National Day celebrations with only difference of month as this time activity was happening in February.
“The magnificent reception for players makes you wish to be a player,” Abdel Aziz Al Ishaq tweeted commenting on grand reception of players by H H the Amir and thousands of fans who were waving flags on the Corniche for the champions.
The team arrived yesterday evening at Doha International Airport and received by Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Later on, the champions rode on specially prepared double-decker bus for a parade on Doha Corniche. Among the top trends in Qatar yesterday on Twitter was #SeeYouAtAlCorniche and #QatarChampionsOfAsia2019.
Hundreds of praises were made about the team on social media platforms and citizens, expatriates kept on sharing latest news, pictures and videos of the team on their personal accounts Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.
They said that the winning football team of Qatar had brought happiness, joy and smiles on the faces of millions of Qataris, Arabs and Muslims across the world.
“The least possible thing we can offer to players is to celebrate their victory to the extent of happiness that they have brought to our hearts. We are very proud of you,” said a Twitterati.
Another one tweeted: “I could not be more proud and happy than that I am on the victory of Qatar in Asian Cup.” Hamed H tweeted that all the Arabs were proud of Qatari team’s achievement and its high ethics.
“Welcome to Al Annabi stars. The festive atmosphere at Corniche ca not be described in words and joy of people is worth watching. Many million congratulations,” Farah tweeted.
