Over 100,000 passengers from across the world have enjoyed Discover Qatar services during 2019-20, showing Qatar is fast emerging as a favourite tourist destination for globe-trotters. Discover Qatar is the sole dedicated destination management company for the Qatar Airways Group. In association with its partners, it works to promote Qatar as a premium tourist destination. “With key markets including Northern, Southern and Western Europe, Russia and CIS, North America, Australia and Asia, over 100,000 passengers have enjoyed Discover Qatar services over the last financial year. This includes more than 120,000 tours and excursions and over 35,000 nights in hotel rooms,” said the annual report released by Qatar Airways. In addition to the Discover Qatar transit tours, Discover Qatar offers a range of other services for passengers by bringing together the best stopover packages, hotels and ground arrangements.
It works in synergy with the best service providers of accommodation, transportation, and uniquely designed tours in the country to offer unforgettable experiences to its customers. Discover Qatar also provides a unique Qatar Stopover programme. This programme has served more than 75,000 stopover customers over the last financial year. In addition, Discover Qatar provided access for over 2,500 tour operators and travel agencies globally to a booking portal where they can book unique and unforgettable experiences in Qatar. Discover Qatar has contracts with over 25 major tour operator partners promoting Doha as a destination in key global markets.
Making use of the visa-free entry for travellers from more than 80 countries, the new Qatar Stopover programme provides Qatar Airways passengers with the chance to spend up to four nights in Qatar with attractive hotel prices. Under the programme, visitors can explore the country with city tours, desert safari, Dhow cruise tour, north and west coast excursions. Discover Qatar offers customers transiting for more than six hours the opportunity to explore the country through its transit tour programme, ranging from desert to city experiences. Discover Qatar has signed exclusive partnership agreements with major tour operators in several countries around the world to promote the country as a major tourist destination.
