Doha: Offering respite to parents, some Indian schools have announced that they have few slots available for admission in various grades.

Olive International School, which has three campuses in Qatar, has said that they have few slots left in grade 1 to 8. When contacted the school said they don’t have any availability in kindergarten, but confirmed a few slots are there on the three campuses for grades 1 to 8.

Scholars International School also said that a few slots are available for KG-2.

When contacted Doha Modern Indian School (DMIS) officials told The Peninsula that they can accommodate 2-3 students in grades 5,6,7 and 8.

The Noble International School, which have multiple campuses in Qatar, also have few slots available in senior grades.

When admissions opened earlier in the year, there was a big rush in most Indian schools and many children were not able to secure an admission in their preferred school.

This had led to the Indian Embassy issuing circular asking parents to register with the embassy if they had not found admission for their ward.

Even though a large number of children registered with the embassy, it was later found that many had already secured admission with some school but wanted to shift to a cheaper or their preferred choice of school.

The current availability will be helpful to parents who have moved to Qatar recently and those who were not able to secure admission earlier.
