Doha: The Public Services Portal of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education received 3,213 applications for early registration of new students of all nationalities in government schools on the first day yesterday.

Head of Admissions and Registration Section at School Affairs Department of the Ministry Warda Mohamed Al Aqeel said that the early registration of new students for all nationalities in government schools for 2021-22 academic year began yesterday.

Speaking in a Qatar TV programme, she said that this is a continuation of the early registration process which had opened in May and ended in mid of June 2021 for Qatari students, those from other GCC countries and children of Qatari women.

“So far, a total of 7,327 applications for early registration by the students of all nationalities have been received. The early registration which opened yesterday for all nationalities will continue until August 15, 2021,” said Warda.

She said that Qatari students, those from other GCC countries, children of Qatari women and expatriates working in government sectors can apply for registration. “Parents can access the Ministry portal by entering user name and password then providing the necessary details of the students and documents as per the nationalities of candidates,” said Warda.

She asked the parents to put correct Kahramaa electricity number to specify the geographical location of the school. “The online registration process is running smoothly taking just about two minutes,” said Warda.

Speaking about the registration in alternative schools beyond the geographical location of the applicant, she said that the list of schools has been prepared according to the nearest place from the home of students.

“If the school is far a little bit from the accommodation of the students, the parents can register if the transportation could be arranged,” said Warda.

Regarding the inquires about the registration, she said: “We receive the inquiries by the parents but due to current situation of COVID-19 pandemic the coordination has been made with Public Relations and Communication Department of the Ministry to bring about an appropriate solution.”

She said that parents can make inquiry by calling customer service centers on 155 and telephone number of Ministry 44044444 or text message 60020020 or use email and social media sites of the Ministry. She asked the applicants to provide accurate information required for registration.

“The parents of expatriate students are required to attach the birth certificate and a letter issued recently from work organisation by maximum in July this year,” said Warda. She said that the documents are required as per the registration policies of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
