DOHA: Qatar’s defending Asian Athletics Championships champion Mutaz Essa Barshim has pulled out of the Asian track and field event which gets underway tomorrow in Pune after suffering a back injury,.
Mohammed Al Kuwari, Secretary General of Qatar Athletics Federation (QAF), confimed yesterday that Barshim pulled out due to an injury. Earlier the London 2012 Olympic bronze medallist wrote on his Twitter account: “Off for a while :@ .Out from Birmingham DL and the Asian championship, back injury.”
