Doha: President of the Republic of Namibia H E Hage Geingob, and his consort H E Monica Geingop, visited Lusail Stadium, one of the stadiums of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, on the sidelines of his current visit to the country.

The Namibian President was accompanied during the visit by Engineer Tamim Al Abed, project manager for Lusail Stadium at the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy.
Engineer Tamim Al Abed gave a detailed briefing to the President about the facilities of Lusail Stadium, which will host 10 matches during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, covering all stages of the tournament from the groups stage to the round of 16, the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final, which will be held on the National Day of the State.

He also briefed the Namibian President about the stadium’s capacity of 85,000 spectators, as well as the natural grass used on the pitch, in addition to the five-year construction period in which about 10,000 technicians and employees participated.
