Labour Ministry welcomes ILO report on Qatar's labour achievements

Doha: Qatar Ministry of Labour appreciated an ILO report published on October 31, 2022, and stressed the continuation of technical cooperation with ILO and the implementation of further programs and activities during the forthcoming period.   

International Labour Organisation (ILO) yesterday released a report on key achievements and challenges of Qatar's labour reforms in its annual report 2022. It also published a summary of the progress made through the technical cooperation programme between the ILO and Ministry of Labour Qatar since 2018.

"Since 2018, Qatar has introduced major labour reforms that have improved the conditions for hundreds of thousands of migrant workers in the country. This publication presents the key achievements and remaining challenges of Qatar's labour reform agenda," stated the ILO as it shared the report.

Dismantling the Kafala system, adopting minimum wage, strenghtening wage protection system, developing the access to justice, promoting social dialogue are just some of the points that the report touches upon.
