Doha: Kuwait won the Men’s team title while Egypt emerged on top in the Under-13 and Under-17 at the 26th Arab Squash Championship.
Yesterday, at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, Kuwait defeated hosts Qatar 2-1 to top the round-robin league.
Iraq, who chose to skip both the junior events, came second followed by Qatar.
In the Under-17 and Under-13 categories, it was Egypt all the way. In both the age groups Qatar finished third, while Kuwait took the runner-up spot.
Earlier on Wednesday, Incheon Asian Games gold medallist Abdullah Al Muzayen of Kuwait won the Men’s title defeating Qatar’s Abdulla Al Tamimi.
Four countries Egypt, Kuwait, Iraq and hosts Qatar took part in the championship which was contested in the Under-13, Under-17 and Men’s individual and team categories.THE PENINSULA
