Doha: The woman accused in the murder of Saudi student Al-Walid al-Gharbi in Philadelphia is set to stand trial mid-February.

Al Arabiya reported that Nicole Marie Rodgers, the accused in the murder of the 25 year old Saudi national, was denied bail by the Philadelphia court and will remain in custody until her trial date.

Al-Gharbi's murder took place on January 23, inside a house in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by an American who stabbed him several times after she lured him to help her and stole his phone and some valuable contents before fleeing the crime site.

The media cited victim’s uncle saying that Rodgers had allegedly asked al-Gharbi to help her in moving some belongings she could not carry into her apartment.

Upon entering her residence, Rodgers allegedly attacked him and left his body lying in the bathroom with multiple stab wounds to the neck
Rodgers was charged with “premeditated murder, theft, and several other charges.”
