The National Development Forum is a pivotal event aiming to highlight the pillars of development under Qatar National Vision 2030 and providing a platform for open dialogue and discussion among all stakeholders involved in implementing the Third National Development Strategy (NDS3).
The high-profile forum brought together ministers, senior government officials, chief executive officers, business leaders and representatives from the third sector and from local and international corporations with an established presence in Qatar.
Discussions centered on the economic development pillar, with particular emphasis on the partnership between public and private sectors and requirements to enable the private sector to participate effectively and play a central role in the sustainable economic development of Qatar.
The forum also stressed the importance of strengthening private sector role in executing NDS3 and creating a practical blueprint for sustainable growth to enable a competitive, productive and sustainable economy.
Speaking at the event, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs provided a comprehensive overview of Qatar's progress across the four pillars of development—human, social, environmental and economic. Addressing both achievements and challenges, he emphasised that Qatar's future economic resilience depends on greater private sector engagement and the ability to capitalize on emerging economic opportunities within NDS3.
Additionally, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs articulated a vision of Qatar as a prominent global player driven by a dynamic and competitive private sector, pointing to measurable progress on the seven national outcomes established within NDS3, with significant improvement in both domestic and international indicators.
Concluding his remarks, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted the vital role of Qatari youth, describing them as "the future of Qatar" whose empowerment is a national imperative.
HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs detailed strategic partnerships forged with the private sector to implement job nationalisation initiatives and create incentive programs specifically designed to nurture and develop Qatari talent.
A subsequent discussion session addressed Qatar National Vision 2030's economic pillar, featuring the participation of the Governor of Qatar Central Bank, HE Ministers of Finance, State for Energy Affairs, Municipality, Commerce and Industry.
The panel delivered a comprehensive assessment of sector achievements, challenges and strategic priorities, followed by a lively dialogue to address pertinent topics such as creating a conducive business environment that empowers private sector participation in Qatar’s economic growth journey, stimulating and attracting investments, and enabling private sector innovation.
HE Dr. Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Secretary General of the National Planning Council, said afterwards: "The National Development Forum establishes a vital platform for meaningful dialogue and feedback that will directly enhance our execution. The success of Qatar National Vision 2030 and our Third National Development Strategy, as well as their execution, fundamentally depends on seamless communication across all stakeholders in our national ecosystem.
