Doha, Qatar: The stage is set for an electrifying semifinal showdown at the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Ramadan Tournament 2025, as the padel competition reaches its decisive phase.
Following an intense quarterfinal round filled with remarkable performances, the tournament held from March 9 to March 17 at the Lusail Shooting Complex, continues to captivate fans with its high-energy matchups.
In a commanding display, QOC President H E Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani and Jassim Mohammed Al Mulla stormed into the semi-finals with a flawless 9-0 victory over Mana Al Jaal and Baher Al Ashmawi.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Hassan Salman Al Thani and Abdulaziz Al Baloshi secured their place with a solid 9-3 triumph against Abdullah Ali Al Kuwari and Mohammed Ali Al Kuwari. The third quarter-final saw Mohammed Abdulsalam and Ahmed Khalil dominate their opponents, claiming a 9-2 win over Salem Al Saadi and Abdulrahman Al Saadi.
The duo Sheikh Hassan and Al Balushi were to face off against Abdulsalam and Khalil in the first semi-final match yesterday. Meanwhile,
H E Sheikh Joaan and Al Mulla were to compete against Al Hashimi and Al Hashimi in the second semi-final.
Padel has emerged as one of the most dynamic and widely embraced sports among Qatari youth, attracting players from all age groups. Its accessibility, fast-paced nature, and exhilarating gameplay have fuelled a surge in popularity, leading to increased participation in tournaments and a growing demand for state-of-the-art courts.
Beyond the fierce padel competition, Sunday’s events featured a friendly beach volleyball match between the Organizing committee team and the 2022 Youth Initiative, with the young talents claiming an impressive 2-0 victory.
The grand final of the beach volleyball competition will take place at 9:30 PM, featuring a thrilling showdown between the Presidential Office team and the Sports Events Department team.
The QOC Ramadan Tournament brings together six elite teams in beach volleyball, alongside highly competitive shooting and padel events. Beyond the action-packed competitions, families can enjoy a diverse array of cultural and entertainment activities, making this tournament not only a celebration of athletic excellence but also a true reflection of sportsmanship and community engagement.
