Under the patronage of Minister of Transport H E Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti, Dar Al Sharq will organise the 2nd Supply Chain Management Conference on December 7 at Holiday Inn under the theme ‘International Integration of the Flow of Goods and Services’.
The announcement was made at a press conference held at Dar Al Sharq headquarters yesterday. The conference will focus on the development of supply chain management which plays a key role in trade. The event will also highlight the achievements made by government and private sectors in Qatar to ensure uninterrupted supply chain especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Addressing the press conference, Deputy CEO of Dar Al Sharq, Jaber Al Harami, said Dar Al Sharq, as the organiser of this important event, believes that its role is not limited to the media and news reporting only, but it also provides a platform that brings together various sectors of society with the aim of participating and entering into partnerships that benefit everyone.
“The conference aims to bring together all concerned parties in one platform for discussion on the latest developments in supply chain management through panel discussions and sessions in which experts and specialists, as well as the concerned parties to share practical experiences, new ideas and future visions,” said Al Harami.
He said the event will discuss the future challenges of the flow of goods, international experiences in managing crises in supply chains, in addition to the vision of government agencies to manage supply chains.
“The conference includes an opening session, and three panel discussion sessions addressed by officials and a number of representatives form relevant authorities – Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Trade and Commerce, General Authority of Customs and a number of government and private companies,” said Al Harami.
The in-charge of Commercial Licensing Department at the Ministry of Transport, Hamad Ali Al Marri, said that the Ministry’s sponsorship for the second edition of the conference comes in line with the its plans to develop an integrated transport network.
He said that the network aims at providing services for transporting goods and passengers and supporting logistics support for supply chains, in a way that enhances the security of the import and export movement of goods and merchandise and contributes to supporting the economy and trade exchange for the country. Al Marri said that the Ministry constantly supports all events and activities that serve its work plans and are in support of the transport sector.
A consultant at Milaha, Adnan Albanna, praised the active and important role played by Dar Al Sharq in addressing a number of qualitative and valuable initiatives that support the efforts of the public and private sectors.
He said that the conference will hold extensive discussion on a number of issues related to supply chains and a set of technical solutions based on future technology and artificial intelligence.
Albanna expressed his aspirations for the conference to come out with fruitful recommendations for a prosperous and promising future for the supply chain sector.
