Damascus: Minister of Administrative Development in the former Syrian regime, Salam Al Saffaf, emphasized that Syria has entered a new era following the opposition's declaration of the ousting of President Bashar Al Assad's regime.

In an interview with Al Araby TV, Al Saffaf said the situation in Syria is poised to stabilize within a few days, highlighting that work is underway in accordance with the constitution to arrange a transitional period.

Al Saffaf stated that Syria's future will be determined within six months, hailing the decision to appoint a transitional president for the country, followed by elections, as per the current constitution, to form a truly national government.

She emphasized that the peaceful transition of power will be carried out in accordance with the constitution, in collaboration with the president of the de jure government, Mohammad Al Jalali. This will include the appointment of a transitional president and a call for the ministers to manage affairs and safeguard the institutions.

The three-month transitional government based on the constitution is a sufficient duration to culminate in elections, she said, but it is not enough time for stability, asserting the need to form a transitional government that calls for holding parliamentary elections, with the parliament crafting a new constitution to establish a new social contract for the Syrian state, which will take at least six months.
