DOHA: Katara is set to host a gallery on Aleppo featuring photographs taken by Syrian journalist Ammar Abed Rabbu.
Ammar has worked in several hot spots around the world, such as Iraq, Lebanon, and Bosnia. He has also covered a number of film festivals and world known fashion shows. His virtual gallery on Flicker has seen more than 1.5m visits. His photographs have been on the covers of world magazines.
Katara General Manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti and Ammar recently met at Katara to discuss the expo to be held in March in collaboration with the French embassy. The artist said he was pleased to have the opportunity to hold his photo gallery in Katara about Aleppo. Dr Al Sulaiti stressed that Katara is the meeting point for cultures, peoples, and innovators irrespective of their artistic orientation.
