Al Mahmoud attends Darfur deal signing

Al Fasher: Sudanese First Vice-President Lieutenant General Bakri Hassan Salih and  Qatar’s  Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Cabinet Affairs  H E Ahmad bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud  attended yetersday at Al Fasher airport the signing of a number of agreements for implementing services and development projects in Darfur states at the cost of $88m, which was extended by Qatar to the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The agreements were signed by Dr  Amin Hassan Omer for the Presidency of of Sudan, Dr Al Tigani Sessi for Darfur state, the UNDP representative and  Dr Ahmed Al Meraikhi, Director of  international Development Department  of Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Meanwhile, Sudanese Minister of Health Bahar Idris Abu Garda and Foreign Ministry’s State Minister Obaidallah Mohamed Obaidallah hailed Qatar’s efforts and initiatives under the directives of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to bring comprehensive peace to Darfur, develop the region and return refugees and the displaced back.
Abu Garda expressed his delight at the visit of Al Mahmoud to Sudan and said his country appreciates the efforts of Qatar’s Emir, government and people to bring peace to Darfur and carry out development projects there.
